Costa Rey is one of the most beautiful and popular bathing resorts in Sardinia. It is in the south-east of the Island, just north of the Villasimius coastline. There are thirteen kilometres of beautiful coastline, starting with “Santa Giusta” beach in the south (with “Lo scoglio di Peppino” – a rock in the shape of a turtle), then coming to Sant’Elmo Bay, where stretches of sandy beach are interspersed with rocky areas, and finally reaching “Cala Sinzias” and “Cala Pira” where the charming, skilfully rebuilt 17th century tower dominates the beach.
Costa Rey lies in the territory of Muravera and Castiadas, both rich in archaeological sites. It’s easy to get here from Cagliari along the “Orientale Sarda” (“East Sardinian” road – SS 125) or along the panoramic provincial road via Villasimius.
